HS Timber Group GmbH announces the sale of PelletsOne GmbH to RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria AG. The closing for the purchase was completed on 20 January, 2023 following approval by the relevant competition authority. The parties agreed not to disclose the contractual details.

The value of imports jumped 60% to $895 million.  the average price of wood pellets grew 13% to $203 per tonne.

Arauco on January 20 produced the first bale of eucalyptus kraft pulp by the new production line (Line 3) at Arauco Mill in southern Chile. The construction of the new production line is part of Arauco’s MAPA Project, which also includes major improvements to Line 2 and the closure of Line 1 — the last pulp bale of Line 1 was produced on January 3, 2022.

In December, price for lumber imported to China down 5%

In December 2022, the average price for lumber imported to China slid 5% compared to the previous month at $246 per m3.
This is 20% less than a year ago when it was $306.
The imports of lumber from China grew 6% year-on-year to 2,336 thousand m3 in December.

In November, price for wood pellets imported to United Kingdom down 0.1%

In November 2022, the average price for wood pellets imported to United Kingdom slipped 0.1% compared to the previous month at $254 per ton.
This is 41% more than a year ago when it was $180.
The imports of wood pellets from United Kingdom lost 10% year-on-year to 648.4 thousand tonnes in November.
