The Land and Environment Court in Vänersborg (Mark- och Miljödomstolen vid Vänersborgs tingsrätt) in Sweden has today granted an environmental permit to the modernization and expansion of the Katrinefors Mill of Metsä Tissue, part of Metsä Group. The next step in the process is the preparation of the final investment decision by Metsä Group.

By its decision of 4 November 2022, the Vaasa Administrative Court upheld the environmental permit package granted to Metsä Group’s Kemi bioproduct mill. On 18 December 2020, the Regional State Administrative Agency for Northern Finland granted environmental and water supply permits for the Kemi bioproduct mill.
Three appeals were filed against the permit during the period of the permit’s availability, to which Metsä Fibre submitted a response to the Vaasa Administrative Court on 2 September 2021.

Valmet entered into an agreement on November 9th to acquire the U.S.-based NovaTech Automation’s Process Solutions business. The value of the acquisition will not be disclosed. The acquisition is estimated to be completed on January 1st, 2023 at the earliest.
NovaTech Automation’s Process Solutions business specializes in process control and optimization solutions for batch, continuous and hybrid processes. The Process Solutions business has a turnover of approximately USD 18 million and employs more than 90 people in the United States and the Benelux countries.

Berry Global, Statesville, has ordered 2 (two) Power Cleaner systems to ProJet. The orders were received in the first week of November. The value of the orders will not be disclosed. Delivery is scheduled to take place in Q1 of 2023 with a start-up in 2023 as well.
