British companies Duraweld, Scarborough, and Prima Yorkshire, Bradford, have announced their merger. With this move, bespoke stationary and packaging supplier Duraweld expands its range of products into folding cartons.

The WEPA Group in mid-December put a new tissue machine into operation at its site in Bridgend, Wales, in the UK, thereby doubling its production capacity of tissue for the UK market. The parent rolls of tissue produced in Bridgend are converted into tissue paper products for the British consumer market. The investment created more than 50 new jobs at the site.

Stora Enso has completed the divestment of its Nymölla paper production site in Sweden, and all related assets to Sylvamo, a US-based global producer of uncoated paper. The divestment announced on 15 September 2022 was closed today after regulatory approvals. The enterprise value of the transaction is approximately EUR 150 million.

Italian recycled cartonboard producer Reno de Medici is resuming operations at its Villa Santa Lucia mill at the beginning of the new year, EUWID reports. This happens following four months of imposed stoppage, the company reports.
