The imports of lumber from China contracted 6% year-on-year to 2,323.3 thousand m3 in November.

In January – November, Russia decreased plywood production by 28% y-o-y to 3.0 million m3. According to Rosstat, production of plywood in November fell 38%.
Russian companies continue to export plywood to the U.S. despite high duties and low prices. In October, Russian producers exported 52 thousand m3 of plywood to the U.S., which is 29% less than a year earlier.

According to Lesprom Analytics, the average price for softwood logs imported to China downed 4% compared to the previous month and amounted to $147 per m3.
This is 15% less than a year ago when it was $172.

According to Lesprom , the average price for lumber imported to Japan upped 1.1% compared to the previous month and amounted to $575 per m3.
