The South Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment issued its statement on the EIA report for the Kaskinen paperboard mill of Mets\u00e4 Board, part of Mets\u00e4 Group, on 22 September 2023. This concludes the mill project\u2019s environmental impact assessment procedure.<\/p>\n
The results of the impact assessment will be considered in the ongoing planning and decision-making process. The EIA process does not make decisions on the project but aims to provide information to support decision-making and to increase public access to information and influence.<\/p>\n
Mets\u00e4 Board started pre-engineering for the new paperboard mill in Kaskinen in autumn 2022. The pre-engineering is based on fossil free production and world-class resource, production and environmental efficiency.
